LANDSCAPES

My love of the sunflower field landscape is deeply connected to Davis, California where I’m from. In summer the surrounding area has rotation crops of gorgeous fields of the giant golden flowers. Here pictured is my painting “Son Flower”, of my son William, age 7. Over the years I have captured the fields through morning, hot noon and sunset with a crescent moon—showing the progression from fresh and bright to old and finished, waiting to be harvested for seed and oil.
